The Advent is the London-based techno project of Cisco Ferreira, a Portuguese-born producer who co-founded the act with Colin McBean in 1993. Rooted in Detroit techno and electro, the duo released the debut album Elements of Life (1995) on Internal Records and quickly built a reputation for hard, metallic club sets across Europe and beyond. McBean departed in 1999, and Ferreira has since kept The Advent running as a solo project - releasing on Tresor, Drumcode, Klockworks and his own Kombination Research label, and remaining one of UK techno's most consistently active figures.
The Advent released the Switch Craft EP in July 2025, continuing a prolific run of releases through his Bandcamp page.
Ferreira put out three EPs in June 2025 alone - Pimp Stank EP, Back to the House EP and Cameo Project - maintaining a high release pace.
The Advent was announced as a guest for the Elektronik Zoo event series in Belgium in September 2026, hosted by Marco Bailey.
Ferreira posted his 2026 gig schedule on Facebook in April 2026, confirming active touring plans for the year.
The Advent performed at the DAAD Gathering in Dádpuszta, Hungary in June 2026.
