DJ Hell & Lars Eidinger
DJ Hell and actor Lars Eidinger create an evening of electronic music and art in Dresden.
DJ Hell (born Helmut Josef Geier, 6 September 1962, Bavaria) is a German DJ, producer and label founder who has shaped European electronic music since the late 1980s. He co-founded Munich's Ultraschall club and launched International DeeJay Gigolo Records in 1996 - a label widely credited as the birthplace of electroclash, with releases by Fischerspooner, Miss Kittin, Vitalic and Jeff Mills. His sound moves between electro, techno, EBM and new wave, always carrying a queer, avant-garde edge that keeps it at a distance from mainstream club culture.
DJ Hell released his seventh studio album 'Neoclash' digitally on 12 December 2025, with a limited 2xLP vinyl edition following on 16 January 2026, both on International DeeJay Gigolo Records.
'Neoclash' features 12 tracks with collaborations from Donner Summer and Joyce Muniz, blending Italo disco, new wave, Detroit techno and Chicago house.
DJ Hell collaborated with performance artist Jonathan Meese on 'Meese x Hell - Gesamtklärwerk Deutschland', a work combining political sound art and post-Dadaist aesthetics.
DJ Hell gave an in-depth interview to Electronic Groove in September 2024, discussing his creative process and views on electronic dance music.
DJ Hell shared his selection of essential Gigolo Records classics in a #MyRecordBag feature for 909originals, alongside the release of his 'My House EP' on Lady Tazz's Mind Medizin label.
