Sir Tom Jones (born 7 June 1940 in Treforest, South Wales) is a Welsh singer whose powerful baritone has carried him across pop, soul, gospel, blues and country for over six decades. He broke through in 1965 with "It's Not Unusual" - a UK number one - and has since sold more than 100 million records worldwide. Knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 2006, he remains one of the most decorated figures in British popular music, with multiple BRIT Awards and a Grammy for Best New Artist. His 2021 album Surrounded by Time made him the oldest artist ever to debut at number one on the UK Albums Chart with new material.
