Zarah Leander (1907-1981) was a Swedish actress and singer who became one of the biggest stars of German cinema in the 1930s and 40s. She was known for her unusually deep contralto voice and for songs such as „Ich weiß, es wird einmal ein Wunder gescheh'n". After the war she returned to Sweden and continued performing on stage and in cabaret.
