Stay Until Tomorrow - Aging in Self-Experiment — projekttheater dresden e.V., Dresden

Can age do more than frighten - can it seduce us toward dreams and hope? And since no one knows who I will be in old age, I accompany myself on stage for as long as I can. Now! The younger, the better. To sense age, to grasp it - in self-experiment.

The joyful and sorrowful stories of a life remain written on the face, collected in the archive of the body. What traces does age leave? Does it move forward, backward, or sideways on the timeline of life - and at what pace?

Just moments ago the shop assistant asks for ID when buying a box of Mon Chéri; the next moment the pharmacist asks: "What other medications are you taking?" Which first times still lie ahead when the first first times have already been lived? Does what society ascribes to a young body match the experience of a performer who sometimes feels the breath of age but is still read as young?

In this solo performance, Leah Wewoda explores through play with a mask - her alter ego in the literal sense - how aging feels in the body of a young woman. Between transformation and projection, she encounters age as both a bodily experience and a social attribution - less as certainty than as an invitation to imagination.
