Les Passants - voices of the night between chanson and jazz

A musical journey through the nights of Europe: Les Passants tell stories of love, loss, longing and departure. French chansons, German songs, English ballads and Italian canzoni meet in intimate new arrangements for voice, bandoneon, guitar and double bass.

At the heart of the programme are the figures who speak through the songs: the woman waiting in a café, the lover on the platform, the traveller without a home, the voice in the half-dark of a bar. Music by Édith Piaf, Marlene Dietrich, Mina, Milva and Kurt Weill comes together in a poetic evening - a multilingual soundscape between melancholy and swing.

That same music forms the starting point for original arrangements on the border of chanson and jazz. The programme rests on an intimate line-up: around bandoneonist Daniel Pacitti and singer-actress Claudia Renner, an ensemble of bandoneon, guitar and double bass takes shape.
