The Roman politician, writer and philosopher Cicero once observed: "No sober man dances, unless he happens to be mad." More than 2,000 years later, that claim is finally being disproved - by Michl Müller, cabaret artist, comedian, Lower Franconian and carnival philosopher. His new stage show "Limbo of Life", launched in 2024, sees the award-winning performer and musician argue that life itself is a dance - one that can, surprisingly, be mastered stone-cold sober and without any serious bouts of madness.

By turns mischievously witty, raucously loud, blunt and earthy, then softer and more reflective, Müller navigates the highs and lows of everyday life with well-crafted humour. The limbo dance demands posture and skill: the bar is horizontal, the back arched, knees and shoulders must not touch the ground. Getting under the bar without touching it takes talent and flexibility - and in the "Limbo of Life" that goes double. Müller dances it with a colourful repertoire of jokes, anecdotes, spontaneous ideas and acrobatic musical interludes.
