An evening about longing, delusion, and the question of what we believe in: Faust, restlessly pursuing knowledge, and Don Quixote, unwaveringly faithful to his ideals. In the "Neue Mythen" series, Josep Pons traces the stories that have shaped European thought. Music from Schumann to Berlioz follows Faust's journey between desire and damnation, while Richard Strauss' "Don Quixote" celebrates the power of imagination.
Pre-concert introduction at 19:15.
Live broadcast on SR kultur radio.
