Natalie, a young woman from the countryside, arrives in Berlin. She is looking for her fairy-tale prince Johnny - a Berlin rock musician who recently performed in her small town and with whom she spent a night that had consequences. When she can't find him at the station, she boards the subway - line 1. Between Bahnhof Zoo and Kreuzberg she encounters the most varied people of a big city: the unemployed, drug counsellors, drunks, would-be suicides... and Bambi, who helps her in her search. The encounters change Natalie so profoundly that by the time she finally finds her prince, she no longer needs him.

"Line 1" is the timeless Berlin cult musical from the 1980s that made the GRIPS-Theater famous in 1986 and has been running there for over 30 years. A gripping musical about life and survival in the city - one that makes you laugh, cry and think.
