Altstadtkonzert with Laura Lootens - Guitar
Stadthalle Wangen, Wangen im Allgäu, Germany
Laura Lootens has established herself as one of the most compelling voices in classical guitar today. Her playing combines fearless virtuosity with a stage presence that is at once composed and dramatic, yet intensely communicative - drawing audiences into the kaleidoscopic colours and expressive range of the instrument.
In the 2025/26 season, Laura Lootens made her debut at the renowned Concertgebouw Amsterdam and at the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, undertook three US tours and one Australian tour, and appeared as soloist with the Hessisches Staatsorchester Wiesbaden and the Heidelberger Sinfoniker. She is also performing Ponce's Concierto del Sur in three concerts with the Mittelsächsische Philharmonie. The previous season brought acclaimed appearances at the Heidelberger Frühling and a celebrated Concierto de Aranjuez before 5,000 listeners with the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie.
Her awards include First Prize and Special Prize at the Andrés Segovia International Competition 2022 - one of the world's most prestigious guitar competitions - as well as a scholarship and Special Prize from the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben at the Deutschen Musikwettbewerb, and the Bayerischer Kunstförderpreis. Laura began her studies with Professor Franz Halász at the age of fourteen. Just one year later, she enrolled as one of the youngest students in the history of the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst München. After completing her Master's degree with distinction, she joined the faculty at just twenty-two years of age.
