Gringo Mayer und die Kegelband
Gringo Mayer is shaking up the music scene again - this time with his new EP Ganove. Three songs that sound like they were written on a road trip through the Midwest and recorded in the shadow of a BASF plant. That tension is what makes Mayer so compelling: a dialect that doesn't feel narrow but opens up like a wide-open sky.
Producer Olaf Opal - who once taught The Notwist how to float and let the Beatsteaks keep their rough edges - has given this EP a sheen that turns everyday stories into anthems. And Mayer himself? He channels his inner Springsteen: world-embracing, freedom-hungry, and just self-aware enough not to take himself too seriously.
The title single "Ganove" feels like walking across still-warm asphalt toward an exciting night. Featherlight riffs flow like air from a rolled-down car window, pick up speed, and carry you straight into a bold, full-throated anthem. You're singing along by the first chorus - because you feel for him, this rogue, this stubborn Rosenkavalier who struggles and yet loves like no one else.
Nasim
Nasim has played so many living-room concerts that he has free Wi-Fi access in almost every corner of Germany. The Stuttgart-based singer-songwriter is known for warm, German-language folk songs, thoughtful lyrics laced with wordplay, and a genuinely upbeat stage presence. After receiving the German federal pop scholarship in 2023, he has been focusing entirely on music - his EP "später Nachmittag" came out in February 2024.
Gollmer & Schüll
As a duo, GOLLMER & SCHÜLL weave their respective home dialects - Styrian and Swabian - together with musical influences drawn from very different directions. Folk, blues, country and jazz all feed into their sound.
