Bulli Abenteuer - 360° Deutschland

What kind of country is Germany, really? Renowned photographer and author Peter Gebhard (GEO, stern, National Geographic) set out in his iconic vintage VW Bulli "Erwin" on an adventurous 16,000-kilometre journey along Germany's coastlines and borders. His new live show offers an intense, up-close look at the country's many faces.

The trip for "360° Deutschland" began in Flensburg, far north on the Danish border. On the island of Fehmarn he met the Charchulla twins, pioneers of German surfing; on Rügen, rugged fishermen who can't imagine life without their boats. The east felt wilder and more melancholic: among organic farmers in Brandenburg and people who had returned home to the Erzgebirge mountains near the Czech border, Peter sensed the soul of the region.
