STOPPOK is celebrating a birthday and hitting the stages of Germany.
STOPPOK, the sharp-eyed chronicler of German life, turns 70 in 2026 - a milestone too good not to celebrate. So he's taking his "RUND-Reise" (Round Trip) across the country's live stages, which have always been his natural habitat. Jubilee shows with rough edges and warm heart, a new album and old friends in tow. The icon of lyrics, voice and guitar arrives in his most relaxed birthday mood.
He is, and remains, the benchmark for a whole trade: for 50 years STOPPOK has been on the road as a singular live presence in vital singer-songwriter craft - an independent spirit "on solid ground" who chose early between "money or life". An outstanding lyricist full of wordplay, wisdom and pointed poetry, with no sign of slowing down. Evidence: his last two albums, "Jubel" and "Teufelsküche", both landed in the Top 5 of the Media Control Charts.
STOPPOK is a singer and musician held in high regard by respected peers - he pairs a loose tongue with stunning craft (his command of stringed instruments is masterful and deeply personal). In recent years he has added original footwork to the mix, using a kick pedal to drive rhythmic momentum beneath his folk-, blues- and rock-rooted sound.
That is why STOPPOK can afford to tour solo: as entertainer, musician and storyteller he holds the stage alone with ease. His acoustic concerts are the stuff of legend - for the artist himself, "pure freedom". December brings the solo edition of the "RUND-Reise", mostly through seated venues. Fitting for a new song from the album released alongside the tour: "The longer we walk together, the better we get".
