Alice Hoffmann and Bettina Koch - "Clever Gossip and Silly Remarks..."

Here they come: the Hessian and the Saarland woman.

The "Hessian" is a chatty, fast-talking woman with a Hessian dialect and a snobbish air of High German superiority. The "Saarland woman" is a shrewd, practical housewife from the Saarland-Palatinate region, wearing a floral apron, whom the "Hessian" is always "a bit embarrassed by."

Two witty women in their prime who show no mercy when gossiping and never miss an opportunity for a cutting remark. Diets, education, foreign words, big politics, or "Brigit's boyfriend," marriage, same-sex marriage, opera visits, or blind dates - they trade barbed verbal jabs and attempt in their seemingly naive way to solve the world's problems.

Alice Hoffmann plays the "Saarland woman" and is best known as "Hilde" in the ARD series "Familie Heinz Becker." She has also appeared in other television formats including the comedy series "Schreinerei Fleischmann," the cabaret show "Spätschicht," the ARD quiz "Meister des Alltags," and in "Tatort Saarbrücken" (as a police station secretary).

Bettina Koch (the "Hessian") co-produced the radio comedy "Die Ähn un das Anner - Two Pretty Best Friends" with Alice Hoffmann. On television, she brings her role to life with impressive authenticity, notably in "Tatort" episodes including "Hilflos" and "Weihnachtsgeld," as well as in Taunuskrimi and cinema, including "Vorwärts immer," where she played Honecker's secretary (alongside Jörg Schüttauf, winner of the Bavarian Film Award).
