One Hundred and Twenty-One Before the End - A Comedy by Matthieu Delaporte — Stadthalle Betzdorf, Betzdorf

Bertrand feels he has wasted his life. No partner, a dull job, no ambitions. Enough is enough. After a failed attempt to die in a car accident, he decides to jump out of a window. But that plan falls apart too - because someone suddenly knocks at the door of the 38-year-old's flat.

When Bertrand opens the door, he finds a mustachioed stranger pointing a gun at him. The oddball visitor threatens to shoot him on the spot, yet hesitates and eventually strikes up a conversation. The two men fall into a farcical dialogue about the reasons for one man's suicide and the other's unexpected visit. It gradually emerges that the would-be killer is none other than Death himself - one of many employees dispatched to collect potential candidates. The surprise is considerable, however, when a call from his superior informs him that he has got the wrong floor...

When Bertrand realizes that Death has come not for him but for Clémence - the woman living upstairs whom he secretly admires - a new will to live stirs inside him, and a race against time begins.
