AN ERMINIG: TRUG - 50th Anniversary Programme - Musique celtique de Bretagne
Schlosskeller Marbach, Germany
23 €
An Erminig, the "Hermeline" (the ermine - symbol of Brittany), are celebrating their 50th anniversary. For half a century they have been the musical ambassadors of Brittany, performing from Skagerrak to Emilia-Romagna.
The anniversary programme of this Saarland-Lorraine world music ensemble is both a look back at the band's history and a tribute to the musicians of Brittany and other Celtic regions who have supported and shaped the group from the very beginning.
The programme's title Trug' - short for the Breton Trugarez ("thank you") - expresses gratitude to friends and teachers in Brittany, as well as to the promoters of AN ERMINIG concerts over the years. The set draws on landmark pieces from the past 50 years alongside songs and dances that connect AN ERMINIG in a special way to their role models and fellow travellers. Anecdotes and stories are woven in throughout, giving the audience a sense of the band's deep enthusiasm for this remarkable region and its culture. Trug' is the joy of a milestone birthday shared with a loyal audience, and a musical journey through time. 50 years and not a bit quieter - on to the next half-century!
