The Magic of Boy Voices
Schloss, Bad Krozingen, Germany
15 €
For this family concert on St. Nicholas Day, selected soloists from the boys' choir of Chorakademie Freiburg will perform a varied programme of sacred choral works, art songs, and folk melodies.
For centuries, trained boy voices have captivated audiences with their purity and natural musicality - moving opera-goers, and especially women in the audience, to tears. Mozart knew this well when he wrote The Magic Flute. And nothing prepares a boy for a singing career better than membership in a boys' choir, whether the Thomaner, the Windsbach choir, or the Regensburger Domspatzen.
The soloists performing tonight have years of choral experience and are also students in the voice-training classes at Chorakademie. Keyboard accompaniment will be provided by Boris Böhmann, the artistic director of Chorakademie.
