When Grandpa Sees the World Through Different Eyes - A Tragicomic Puppet Play for World Alzheimer's Day

Between clownish lightness and profound sadness, we trace Paul's story.

Born between the wars, he endured a frightening and traumatic childhood and wanted only one thing after the war - to forget. Throughout his life, Paul took measures to suppress the traumatic events of war forever. Suppression became his constant companion, shaping his life and that of his family. But suppression demands great strength, and dementia now somehow releases him.

For his 87th birthday, his son Severin and granddaughter Marie come to visit and try to navigate everyday life together. In doing so, they discover both themselves and each other's world anew.

Because through dementia, a lightness also emerges in Paul's life. From nowhere, hopes and dreams resurface. Including his long-cherished dream - to travel to the Cape of Good Hope one day. But he never wanted to fly...
