In an idyllic summer setting, three sisters - brewery heiresses Charlotte, Cäcilie and Clementine - spend the warm months in the countryside with their loyal servant Rudolf. For nearly 30 years Rudolf has served the sisters and shared tender moments with each of them - of course, without the knowledge of the others. Each sister promised to remember him in her will. But when Rudolf asks for an early payout, none of the sisters want to hear about their promise anymore, prompting Rudolf to take drastic measures...
