Heidelberger HardChor - Male Destinies XII

The world of the circus ring is not a topic for Heidelberger HardChor - quite the opposite: under the title "Not My Circus," this male vocal ensemble under conductor Bernhard Bentgens once again takes to the tightrope of male destinies. There the singers balance between intellectual pirouettes and emotional blows, juggling their own existential themes: wanderlust and relationship frustration, emotional management and blow-dried hair, the struggle over the milk-frothing machine in the office, and ultimately the question of how to pronounce Stracciatella with a full mouth.

The HardChor conjures the magic of music with songs by Queen, David Bowie, Danger Dan, Gianna Nannini, Rio Reiser, Herbert Grönemeyer, Bernhard Bentgens, Bill Withers, and Fine Young Cannibals.

"Not My Circus" is the eleventh programme of the HardChor, in which beautifully resonant vocal acrobatics merge with quirky and witty texts from the HardChor's word workshop - like Stracciatella ice cream.
