Sebastian Studnitzky (trumpet and piano), winner of the OPUS Klassik and ECHO Jazz awards, is one of the most compelling musical figures in Europe. In 2026 he takes his singular project "Memento Odesa" back on the road, joined by the Chamber Orchestra of the Odesa Philharmonic under conductor Volodymyr Dykyi and his own band.
"Memento Odesa" was composed by Studnitzky himself and occupies a space between worlds: classical music meets jazz, orchestral depth meets chamber intimacy, emotional weight meets sonic beauty. Studnitzky, long known for his soundscapes at the intersection of classical, jazz and electronics, and the outstanding Odesa orchestra together create something rare - a modern-classical tribute to the city of Odesa and its people, who continue to suffer under Russia's war of aggression.
What began in 2023 as a spontaneous musical act - three pieces recorded on the spot at the Odesa Philharmonic, in the middle of the war, as a gesture of solidarity with the people of Ukraine - has grown into one of Germany's most affecting concert projects. The 2026 winter tour is already the fifth joint German tour with the Chamber Orchestra of the Odesa Philharmonic. Two albums have since been recorded and released together in Berlin. What started as a gesture has become a musical event with international reach.
