Broadcast of André Rieu's summer concert from Maastricht 2026 - the jubilee, 20th edition.
In July 2026, André Rieu and his Johann Strauss Orchestra will perform on Vrijthof, the famous square in Maastricht, for the twentieth time. The new show, titled "Long Live Maastricht!", is a tribute to the Maestro's hometown. Exactly 20 years ago, the first summer concert took place here, transforming the medieval square into an open-air ballroom.
The programme features waltzes and marches by Johann Strauss the Elder and Younger, hits from the musicals "My Fair Lady" and "Les Misérables", as well as "Gabriel's Oboe" by Ennio Morricone from the film "The Mission". The stage will feature the Platinum Tenors, internationally renowned sopranos, and stars who have never performed on Vrijthof before.
The broadcast for Polish audiences will be hosted by Maja Jasińska, flautist of the Johann Strauss Orchestra. Her presentation will include behind-the-scenes footage and an interview with André Rieu recorded exclusively for Polish cinema audiences.
