About

ACTORS are a Canadian post-punk quartet from Vancouver, formed in 2012 by vocalist and producer Jason Corbett alongside Shannon Hemmett (synth/vocals), Kendall Wooding (bass/vocals), and Adam Fink (drums). Their sound draws on the cold, synth-driven energy of early-80s new wave - Joy Division, New Order, Roxy Music - filtered through Corbett's own cinematic production style at his Vancouver studio, Jacknife Sound. Two albums on Toronto's Artoffact Records, It Will Come to You (2018) and Acts of Worship (2021), established them as one of the most talked-about darkwave acts in North America, with festival appearances at Wave-Gotik-Treffen, Cold Waves, and Grauzone.
