Lieber tot N° 2 – Synth & Minimal Wave Festival
A synth and minimal wave festival at ÆDEN in Berlin, featuring six acts: Light Asylum, Martial Canterel, Graftak, LaFontaine, Mara Mortem, and Testbild.
Light Asylum is an American darkwave and synthpop project founded in Brooklyn in 2007 by vocalist and producer Shannon Funchess, initially as a duo with multi-instrumentalist Bruno Coviello. Their self-titled debut album (Mexican Summer, 2012) drew comparisons to Nine Inch Nails and Depeche Mode, and Funchess's powerful contralto - shaped by Southern Baptist church choirs and post-punk bands - remains the project's defining force. Since Coviello's departure, Funchess has continued performing as Light Asylum, also lending her voice to records by The Knife, LCD Soundsystem, and TV on the Radio.
Light Asylum performed at Cassiopeia Club in Berlin in June 2026, part of an active European run that logged 29 shows across 2026.
Light Asylum played a live set at Urban Spree in Berlin on November 13, 2025, on a bill presented by aufnahme + wiedergabe.
A new Light Asylum release titled 'Die Cast Down' appeared on Spotify in 2025, marking the project's first new material in years.
Light Asylum performed at the Cold Waves festival in Chicago in 2022 and debuted new songs, with Funchess promising new music soon.
The track 'Shallow Tears' was featured in the first episode of the Netflix series Russian Doll, bringing the project to a wider audience.
😴 Nothing scheduled with this artist in the near future.
