About

Baxter Dury (born 18 December 1971 in Buckinghamshire) is an English singer-songwriter and son of punk-funk legend Ian Dury. Over eight studio albums he has carved out a sound of his own - sardonic spoken-word delivery over indie, funk and electronic grooves - that draws frequent comparisons to Serge Gainsbourg and has earned him a devoted following, particularly in France. His 2020 album "The Night Chancers" (Metacritic: 86) broke him to a wider audience, and his 2025 record "Allbarone", produced by Paul Epworth, has been widely called the best work of his career.
