About
Bonnie 'Prince' Billy is the primary stage name of Will Oldham, a singer-songwriter and actor born in Louisville, Kentucky in 1970. Active since the early 1990s - first as Palace Brothers, Palace Songs and Palace Music - he has built one of the most prolific and critically respected bodies of work in American indie folk and alt-country. His 1999 album 'I See a Darkness', whose title track was later covered by Johnny Cash, remains a landmark of the genre; over three decades he has released more than 30 studio albums.
