About

CocoRosie is an American duo formed in 2003 by sisters Bianca "Coco" and Sierra "Rosie" Casady, who reunited in Paris after years apart and recorded their debut in a tiny apartment there. Their sound - tagged "freak folk" - weaves opera, hip-hop, blues and electronica around lo-fi toy percussion and Sierra's classically trained voice. Over eight studio albums they have built a devoted global following, and they also compose original scores for theatrical works, including collaborations with director Robert Wilson. Bianca is a published poet and visual artist; Sierra is a classically trained opera singer and stage actor.
