About

Cryptopsy are a technical/brutal death metal band from Montreal, Canada, active since 1988. Their 1996 album None So Vile is widely regarded as a landmark of the genre, and the band has spent over three decades pushing the limits of speed, precision and rhythmic complexity. In 2024 they won Canada's JUNO Award for Metal/Hard Music Album of the Year for As Gomorrah Burns, and in June 2025 released their ninth studio album, An Insatiable Violence, on Season of Mist.
