Gong are a British psychedelic and space rock band formed in Paris in 1967 by Australian guitarist Daevid Allen and vocalist Gilli Smyth. Their early-1970s Radio Gnome Invisible trilogy - Flying Teapot, Angel's Egg and You - built an elaborate cosmic mythology around characters like Zero the Hero and the Pothead Pixies, and remains their most celebrated work. After Allen's death in 2015, the band continued under frontman Kavus Torabi, releasing a run of new studio albums and touring without pause.
Gong released their 20th studio album Bright Spirit on 13 March 2026 via Kscope, completing a trilogy that began with The Universe Also Collapses (2019).
The Bright Spirit Tour took Gong to Germany (Jena, Karlsruhe, Rüsselsheim am Main), Belgium, Norway and the Netherlands in April 2026.
Gong announced additional 2026 tour dates across the UK, France, Germany and more following the album's release.
Gong released the single 'The Wonderment' in January 2026 alongside the announcement of Bright Spirit, with an official music video.
Gong previewed the Bright Spirit album with the single 'Stars In Heaven' in November 2025.
