About

IQ are a British neo-progressive rock band formed in 1981 by guitarist Mike Holmes and keyboardist Martin Orford, with vocalist Peter Nicholls joining in 1982. Alongside Marillion and Pendragon, they helped define the neo-prog movement of the 1980s, building a fiercely loyal following through epic, emotionally charged compositions. The current lineup - Nicholls, Holmes, Tim Esau (bass), Neil Durant (keyboards) and Paul Cook (drums) - has been stable since 2011, and in 2025 the band released their 13th studio album, 'Dominion', their first new material in six years.
