About

Nils Landgren Funk Unit is a Swedish funk, soul and jazz band led by trombonist and singer Nils Landgren, known as "The Man with the Red Horn". The group took shape at the Jazz Baltica Festival in Germany in 1994 and has since released thirteen studio albums on the ACT label, touring Europe and beyond without interruption. Landgren is also a professor of jazz trombone at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg and has served as artistic director of the JazzBaltica festival since 2012.
