Marcus Miller is an American bassist, composer, and producer from Brooklyn whose slap-bass technique and studio instincts have shaped jazz, funk, and R&B for over four decades. He co-produced and largely wrote Miles Davis's landmark album Tutu (1986), and has since collaborated with artists ranging from Herbie Hancock and Aretha Franklin to Beyoncé and David Bowie. A five-time Grammy winner and UNESCO Artist for Peace, he leads his own band while continuing to record and tour internationally.
