Mongolian band THE HU, known for blending traditional music with modern sound, performs in Hamburg.
The Hu are a Mongolian rock band founded in 2016 in Ulaanbaatar, built around traditional instruments - the morin khuur (horsehead fiddle), tovshuur and tumur khuur - combined with chöömej throat singing and contemporary heavy rock. They call their genre "Hunnu Rock", a nod to the ancient Xiongnu empire. Their 2018 debut singles "Yuve Yuve Yu" and "Wolf Totem" went viral worldwide, and in 2019 "Wolf Totem" made them the first Mongolian act to top a Billboard chart. In November 2022 they became the first rock or metal band to receive the UNESCO Artist for Peace designation.
The Hu announced their third studio album "Hun", due July 24, 2026 via Better Noise Music, alongside the new single "Lost Soul" featuring Jonny Hawkins of Nothing More.
The Hu announced a full UK and European headline tour for September-October 2026 with SKÁLD as special guests, including dates in Hamburg, Berlin, Warsaw and other cities.
The Hu were announced as special guests on the Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson North American co-headline tour.
The Hu announced their 2025 European "Incarnation" headlining world tour, spanning 26 dates across 12 countries in June and July 2025, including shows supporting Heilung and festival appearances at Hellfest and Graspop.
The Hu supported Iron Maiden on 23 North American dates of the Future Past tour and released a Hunnu Rock cover of Iron Maiden's 1983 single "The Trooper".
