About

Alestorm are a Scottish heavy metal band from Perth, formed in 2004 and signed to Napalm Records since 2007. They pioneered the genre their fans call "pirate metal" - power metal driven by folk melodies, sea-shanty hooks and a relentlessly tongue-in-cheek nautical theme. Their debut Captain Morgan's Revenge (2008) launched them onto the European festival circuit, and eight studio albums later they remain one of the most recognisable acts in the niche, regularly selling out venues across Europe and North America.

Alestorm released their eighth studio album, The Thunderfist Chronicles, on 20 June 2025 via Napalm Records, featuring an 17-minute closing track with guest vocals from Russell Allen and Patty Gurdy.
