LIONS Big Band Charity Concert - LIONS Hilfe Passau and EW Passau Cooperation

In aid of the participating schools and social causes in the region

Making music for a good cause: that is the goal of the school big bands from the Freudenhain, Leopoldinum, Untergriesbach, Vilshofen and Fürstenzell grammar schools. Organised by the Passauer Lions Club, the young musicians will take the stage at the Dreiländerhalle for the 12th time, performing pieces spanning swing, jazz, rock, blues, pop and Latin. The audience can look forward to a varied evening with talented and dedicated young performers.

The big band evening will run for around two and a half hours. The five bands will alternate several times, delivering a programme that is as ambitious as it is entertaining - classic big band numbers, film music and pop and rock standards, performed both with and without vocals.

The event is under the patronage of Mayor Andreas Rother. The charity concert is organised by Lions-Hilfswerk Passau, which will pass on all proceeds from donations and ticket sales directly to youth and children's work in the city and district of Passau. Among other things, the funds are intended to help purchase musical instruments and sheet music for school orchestras and youth music groups.
