This is the first theatre to bring the novel of a remarkable woman to the stage: in WIR SPIELEN ALLTAG, Israeli author and peace activist Lizzie Doron recounts her daily life between Berlin and its twin city Tel Aviv since 7 October 2023. She writes of an everyday life that no longer exists yet somehow carries on - of encounters with the bereaved, political arguments at the hairdresser's, memorial events that grow hollow, and the silence on the phone with a Palestinian friend.
Through short episodes from daily life, a disturbing and chaotic reality emerges - one that puts the moral compass and the capacity for empathy to an unexpected test, and redefines what home, friendship and family mean. Every day becomes a desperate attempt to hold on to something, to keep a dream alive, to stay human.
Working closely with Lizzie Doron, acclaimed Israeli director Dori Engel brings the novel to the stage as a music-theatre piece.
