Inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's "The Ugly Duckling", Laurie Cannac and Andy Scott Ngoua tell a story of transformation, exclusion and self-discovery. Using puppets, projections, a transformable stage and live music, dreamlike images emerge - a fusion of puppet theatre, dance and Visual Vernacular.

The production was created through collaboration between deaf and hearing artists. The performance text was developed in French sign language - through the projected performance of deaf performer Karine Feuillebois and integrated into choreographic body expression, it creates a stage language accessible to both deaf and hearing audiences.

Following the performance, there will be a public discussion with the artistic team, moderated by cultural scholar Sebastian Köthe. The discussion will be conducted in English and interpreted into German sign language; questions can be asked in German sign language, English or German.
