Hin und Her - A Farce in Two Parts — Theater tri-bühne, Stuttgart
Description was written before the event

The action takes place on an old, modest wooden bridge spanning a medium-sized border river - a structure that loosely connects two states.

On one side of the bridge, border guard Thomas Szamek keeps watch; on the other end stands his counterpart Konstantin. At the centre of it all is Ferdinand Havlicek. After his pharmacy went bankrupt, he was deported from the country where he had lived for half a century. He wanted to cross the bridge and return to his homeland - but had forgotten to renew his citizenship there, as required every five years, and so he can no longer enter...

"Who will compose the music for my play, I do not yet know. The roles are all comic parts, both female and male. The intention of the play can be briefly stated as follows: it should show how easily an inhuman law can be overturned by a single human gesture." (Ödön von Horváth, Wiener Allgemeine Zeitung, 14.9.33)
