New Year Concert

Johann Sebastian Bach and Chick Corea - two names that seem to have little in common at first glance: one the baroque master of counterpoint from quiet Eisenach, the other the American jazz pianist widely regarded as a pioneer of jazz fusion. Yet what connects them goes beyond their shared gift for virtuosic improvisation.

In three musical chapters, Samuel Gogniat (vibraphone) and Mathis Wolfer (recorders) bring these two exceptional musicians into conversation across the boundaries of time and style. A curiosity for new forms of expression and sound worlds defines both young artists, who in 2025 - each as the sole representative of their instrument - reached the final of the Deutscher Musikwettbewerb and received numerous special prizes and scholarships.
