About

Metric is a Canadian indie rock band from Toronto, formed in 1998 by vocalist Emily Haines and guitarist Jimmy Shaw, later joined by bassist Joshua Winstead and drummer Joules Scott-Key. Over ten studio albums - from the cult debut Old World Underground, Where Are You Now? (2003) through the platinum-selling Fantasies (2009) and Synthetica (2012) - the band built a devoted following while running their own label, Metric Music International, and resisting major-label deals. Multiple Juno Award winners, they are also known for film contributions including 'Black Sheep' in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and the Twilight Saga: Eclipse theme.
