Sunn O))) is an American drone/doom metal duo formed in Seattle in 1998 by guitarists Stephen O'Malley and Greg Anderson. Their music is built on extremely slow, dense layers of low guitar drones and sub-bass frequencies. Live performances are famously ritualistic - the pair perform robed, letting the sheer physical weight of the sound do the work.
