Threshold are an English progressive metal band from Surrey, active since 1988 and built around the enduring creative partnership of guitarist Karl Groom and keyboardist Richard West. Across twelve studio albums they have developed a signature sound that balances heavy riffing with melodic songwriting and thoughtful lyrics - earning them a reputation as one of the UK's leading acts in the genre. Their 2017 double album "Legends of the Shires" reached the top 20 in Germany and Switzerland, and the 2022 follow-up "Dividing Lines" again charted in both countries.
