About
TR/ST is the solo project of Canadian singer and producer Robert Alfons, born in Winnipeg and now based in Los Angeles. Originally formed as a duo with drummer Maya Postepski in Toronto around 2010, the project built a cult following through four studio albums - TRST (2012), Joyland (2014), and the two-part The Destroyer (2019) - that weave darkwave, synth-pop and industrial textures around Alfons' deep, expressive vocals. The debut was nominated for the Juno Award for Electronic Album of the Year; Joyland debuted at #12 on the Billboard Dance/Electronic Albums chart. In 2023 TR/ST signed to Dais Records and released the EP TR/ST EP (2024), followed by the fourth full-length album Performance (September 2024).
