About

Żywiołak is a Warsaw-based folk band founded in 2005 by multi-instrumentalist Robert Jaworski and guitarist Robert Wasilewski. Drawing on Slavic mythology, pre-Christian ritual and folk demonology, the group blends hurdy-gurdy, renaissance fiddle and ethnic percussion with rock energy - a sound they call 'polska muzyka neo-ludowa'. They have won the Wirtualne Gęśle audience award twice (for 'Nowa Ex-Tradycja' in 2008 and 'Dekonstrukcja historyczna I' in 2022) and their music has appeared in the Witcher 2 & 3 video games, World of Tanks and League of Legends.
