Yoga & Art
A yoga session on the art meadow at Zollverein
This class brings together traditional yoga practices - flowing movement, breathwork and meditation - with personal perception and an encounter with Concrete Art and the works of artist Ansgar Nierhoff. Led by yoga teacher Viviann Langhans, the session aims to connect body, mind and aesthetic sensibility. It is suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners alike.
Props such as blocks or a mat are not required, but feel free to bring a yoga mat, a towel as a base layer and something to drink. In good weather, parts of the session take place directly on the grass; the class goes ahead in bad weather too.
Afterwards, an audio walk is available to explore further artworks across the site.
Please arrive 10-15 minutes before the start. Breathable, stretchy clothing is recommended. Let the teacher know about any injuries at the beginning of the session.
