This late-night concert brings together choral settings of prayers that grapple with death and farewell. Angels guiding the departed to paradise, a mother's grief before her crucified son, trust in the heavenly Father, and a plea for eternal rest - these are the themes of the evening's "silent prayers".
The programme features works by Ukrainian-Estonian composer Galina Grigorjeva, Canadian Eleanor Daley, Norwegian Knut Nystedt, and Latvian Ēriks Ešenvalds - each approaching these themes in a distinctly different way.
