Cobario - Wiener Weihnacht

Christmas is coming, and with it the Advent season - when the first snowflakes drift through the streets, the town glows with festive light, and the scent of mulled wine and gingerbread fills the air. It is the time for special songs.

In their programme "Wiener Weihnacht", Cobario presents traditional and contemporary Christmas songs in fresh arrangements, performed with joy and virtuosity on two guitars and a violin. The mood is relaxed and reflective, but can turn lively and upbeat when the trio weaves in their own compositions.

The CD "Wiener Weihnacht" features 12 classic Christmas songs that Cobario reinterprets in their own instrumental style - with a fresh, surprising touch. Listeners are taken on a journey full of musical twists: "O Tannenbaum" takes on the feel of a Viennese Heuriger wine tavern, while "Leise rieselt der Schnee" transforms into a jazz waltz from the 1950s. From Irish echoes ("Schneeflöckchen Weißröckchen") to bossa nova ("Süßer die Glocken nie klingen") and country ("Rudolph the red nosed reindeer") - Cobario roams through musical styles from around the world without losing sight of their Alpine roots ("Es wird scho glei dumpa").
