"Hymnen an die Nacht"
An evening of nocturnal poetry and prose - from Novalis to Kaleko - woven together with Bach's Goldberg Variations. Pianist Markus Becker and actor Devid Striesow create a literary and musical portrait of the night.
Markus Becker is a German pianist who works across classical repertoire and projects that bring music into dialogue with literature and theatre. He collaborates with leading performers and has a strong focus on chamber music. His programmes often place the piano in direct conversation with the spoken word.

Six pianists share the stage for an evening spanning Haydn, Mozart, Mendelssohn, Schubert and Debussy - with Igor Levit and Markus Becker joined by four rising talents, including a world premiere of Neumann's own sonata.

Three pianists perform works by Ravel, Schumann, and Haydn in an intimate chamber concert. Markus Becker, Séverine Kim, and Robert Neumann present a repertoire spanning from neoclassicism to Romanticism.

A piano-focused debut marathon in Hitzacker: Igor Levit and Markus Becker play Brahms for four hands, while young pianist Séverine Kim presents works by Haydn, Scarlatti and Debussy.
