Silly is a German rock band founded in 1978 in East Berlin, originally under the name Familie Silly. They became one of the GDR's most beloved acts, shaped by the powerful voice of frontwoman Tamara Danz and the politically charged lyrics of poet Werner Karma. After Danz died of cancer in 1996, the band lay dormant for nearly a decade before relaunching with actress Anna Loos on vocals - a move that produced their biggest chart hit, 'Alles Rot' (2010, #3 in Germany, Gold). Since 2019 Julia Neigel has led the band vocally, joined from 2023 by former City singer Toni Krahl.
After the successful elektroAKUSTIK tour with Toni Krahl, Silly announced they will continue touring with Julia Neigel while Krahl pursues a solo project.
Former Silly vocalist AnNa R. (Rosenstolz) died on 16 March 2025 in Berlin at the age of 55; she had sung with Silly from 2019 to 2022.
Silly launched their elektroAKUSTIK tour on 7 February 2025, with extra dates added due to high demand; most shows sold out.
