Walentin / Møldrup / McKenzie — Alte Kirche Fautenbach, Achern

Major works for piano trio from the Baltic region: by Latvian composer Peteris Vasks and Russian composer Dmitri Shostakovich.

Violin Niklas Walentin, winner of more than 25 international prizes, moves equally at home in classical music and jazz. He has performed in all the world's leading concert halls and is a regular guest on major stages. In 2020 he completed a full recording of the solo violin sonatas by Eugène Ysaÿe.

Toke Møldrup is one of Denmark's best-known cellists, dedicated alongside the classical cello repertoire to contemporary music - often in unconventional and spectacular fashion. A prime example is his Bach Ultra Marathon: all 36 movements of the 6 Suites for Solo Cello, each followed by a 1-kilometre run.

Pianist Alexander McKenzie performs worldwide like his colleagues and is a fixture of the chamber music scene. In 2018 he founded the Danish Chamber Ballet and composes music for the ensemble. His works have been choreographed by international figures including Paul Lightfoot and Emma Portner.
